This beautiful item is a traditional Polish hand-carved linden wood jewellery box, crafted as a souvenir or art piece from the historic city of Kraków, Poland.

The golden script on the front highlights Kraków, a major cultural hub in southern Poland renowned for its historic Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), where local artisans have traded these traditional woodcrafts for generations.

These boxes are traditionally built using seasoned linden wood (basswood) from the nearby Tatra Mountain region. Linden wood is favoured by Polish craftsmen because it is strong, holds fine details wonderfully and retains a clean grain pattern.

The box shows classic Polish folk art techniques, combining deep geometric hand-carving with pyrography (wood-burning) to outline the patterns. The top lid features a vibrant, hand-stained floral medallion accented with colourful opaque lacquers. It has a classic polished gloss finish, a distinctive wave-like trim, and a small lock with an ornamental metal key which works.

It has red flock on the base and is in perfect gift condition.
