About 20thCenturyStuff

Jenny, founder of 20thCenturyStuff

Meet Jenny

A lifelong love of “stuff”

I trained as a product designer, and I have always been fascinated by “stuff”: the everyday objects people design, make, use and treasure. From the age of about eighteen I was rummaging through boot sales, flea markets and antiques and vintage fairs, starting with postcards and bric-a-brac, and I have never really stopped.

Over the years I have sold my finds from a market stall, joined the first wave of eBay sellers when it was new and exciting, and sold on behalf of family and friends. I have been buying and selling whatever caught my eye for most of my life, including a spell at Creigiau Pottery in the 1980s.

For around fifteen years I have run a highly successful Etsy shop, specialising in mid-century modern design, vintage costume jewellery and antique finds. 20thCenturyStuff is the next chapter: a home of our own, where every piece can be shown properly and its story told.

What I look for

The things I love

Coloured glass, Bakelite, retro china and studio pottery, with a soft spot for anything kitsch and collectable. Every piece is hand-picked, photographed at home here in South Wales and honestly described, with any wear noted.

Most of our stock is a single piece, so when it’s gone, it’s gone.
