Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 27 October 2026

These terms apply to every order placed on 20thcenturystuff.com. Please read them before you buy. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. About us

20thCenturyStuff is run by Jennifer Donald, trading as 20thCenturyStuff.

Address: 15a Heol-y-Parc, Efail Isaf, Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, CF38 1AN, United Kingdom
Email: jenny@20thcenturystuff.com

2. Vintage and pre-owned items

Almost everything we sell is vintage, antique or pre-owned, and most pieces are one of a kind. Items may show signs of age and use, such as light wear, crazing, small marks or fading, which we see as part of their character. We describe the condition of every item honestly and point out any damage we are aware of. The photographs form part of the description, so please look at them carefully.

Measurements are approximate. Colours can look slightly different on different screens. If you have any questions about an item, please email us before you buy and we will be happy to help.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices. The total you pay is the item price plus postage, and both are shown at checkout before you pay. You can pay by debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe through WooPayments. We never see or store your full card details.

If an item is shown at the wrong price because of an obvious error, we will contact you before sending it and you can choose whether to continue or receive a full refund.

4. Your order

After you place an order you will receive an email confirming it. Our contract with you is formed when we send that confirmation. Because most items are one-offs, if an item turns out to be unavailable we will let you know straight away and refund you in full.

5. Postage and delivery

We post to addresses in the UK and worldwide (except where sanctions apply) using Royal Mail, InPost, DPD or Evri. Orders are sent with a tracked service, and the postage price is shown at checkout before you pay. For small, lower-value items going overseas you may also be offered a cheaper untracked option; untracked parcels cannot be traced and can take longer to arrive. A few large or heavy items can only be posted within the UK; this is shown on the product page. We aim to dispatch orders within 1 to 3 working days of payment. Every item is carefully wrapped and packed.

Delivery times given by the carriers are estimates and are not guaranteed. If your parcel has not arrived within 10 working days (UK) or 25 working days (international) of dispatch, please email us and we will trace it with the carrier.

International orders: your country may charge import duty, taxes or handling fees when the parcel arrives. These are not included in our prices and are payable by you. Customs checks can sometimes delay delivery.

6. Your right to cancel

You have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive it. To cancel, email us at jenny@20thcenturystuff.com with your order number. You then have a further 14 days to send the item back to us at the address above.

  • You pay the cost of returning the item. Please pack it carefully, as you are responsible for it until it reaches us. We recommend a tracked service.
  • We will refund the price of the item and the original postage you paid (up to the cost of our standard delivery option).
  • We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the item back, or of you showing us proof that you have sent it, whichever is sooner, using the same payment method you used.
  • We may reduce your refund if the item has been damaged, or its value reduced, by handling beyond what is needed to examine it, as you would in a shop.

7. Faulty items, damage in the post, or items not as described

If an item arrives damaged, or is not as we described it, please email us within 30 days of delivery with photos of the item and the packaging. We will put it right, normally with a full refund including all postage costs, and we will cover the cost of any return. This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. As we sell to private customers only, we are not responsible for any business losses.

9. Your personal information

We only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown on the website when you placed it.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you have a problem, please contact us first; we will always try to sort things out quickly and fairly.
