Large Vintage Murano Sommerso Glass Poodle Dog Figurine, Cobalt Blue and Clear

A large vintage Murano art glass poodle or terrier dog figurine, hand-blown in Italy.

It is made with the traditional sommerso (“submerged”) technique, where layers of coloured glass are encased in a thick outer layer of clear glass. Here a deep cobalt blue body sits inside the clear glass, with a jaunty clear tail and legs.
