This is a rare vintage Creigiau pottery copper lustre dragon pie funnel (often called a pie bird or pie vent), a highly collectible piece of Welsh kitchenalia. Produced by the renowned Creigiau Pottery in South Wales between 1968 and 1983, it is widely considered their most famous and sought-after creation.
Instead of the traditional blackbird design, this piece features a bold, mid-century modern reimagining of the Welsh Red Dragon (Y Ddraig Goch). It was designed both as a functional tool and as a regional sculptural statement: in a pie it supports the pastry crust and lets steam escape through the vent, preventing juices from boiling over into the oven.

Length: 5 cm (about 2 inches) from the front of the body to the back.
